To celebrate Kopitiam's 1 year anniversary, the Malaysian wau kite was chosen as a heroic symbol and reinterpreted to represent the union between two cultures — the top portion being Malaysia with the crescent moon, 14-point stars, and the flora and fauna; and NYC at the bottom with Lady Liberty's crown, apples, and 5-point stars. Both segments of the kite connected by the kopitiam logo. You can find the date June 27 2018 incorporated into the design to commemorate Kopitiam's establishment in NYC.
